Spring Newsletter and Spark Island

Welcome to readers of the Spring Newsletter. If you want to make a post to this public blog please email me.

We have purchased access to Spark Island, a website for primary pupils, the password is on Wired in the NLC community under Resources. It's the same as the echalk password. To access it just click on the link from the NLC home page.

New graphics software

Recently deployed (automatically installed) to computers at Oakdale and Bassetlaw are the free software programs Inkscape, a vector graphics program, Paint .NET, a bitmap graphics program, and Google Sketchup, a 3d drawing program.

For Sketchup I recommend the Self paced tutorial available from the Help menu.

If you are at another unit and would like this software installed please tell me.
